I Want to Ride ... But How do I Get Started?

Fabulous! You've got the desire, now act on it. The two most important steps you should take are BE SAFE (always wear a helmet!) and GET STARTED. Begin with rides that are within your comfort level. Learn and plan as you go. Ask others what they do, where they ride, etc.

Here are some suggested routes from the Charleston area that you may consider for getting started:

Dog Watch

A number of us have had some encounters with dogs on our routes. I am going to try and compile a list of of address and dog descriptors (aggressive, etc). This may help us to avoid houses with owners that do not take the time to protect their animals.

If you have any house address/descriptors, pass them along, or add to this "Dog Map" using the Google maps tools (don't forget to save the map if you add to it.)
